Bloggy Carnival Giveaway

I'm hosting a giveway on my other blog Thyme for Herbs and I thought why not do two at the same time? Now, An Herbal Bedfellow can get some attention, too. So here it is:

I'm giving two embroidered tea towels with crocheted lace edging, 100% cotton. You can't get much more homey and earthy than that!

All you have to do is leave a comment about your cooking skills!

Make sure to include your email address like this: pianananna(at)gmail(dot)com. I need to find you, if you win. Bloggers, I will check your profile.

Subscribe to An Herbal Bedfellow for a second entry, be sure to respond to verify the subscription. Only active subscribers are included. If you're already a subscriber, your entry will be counted.

That's it. The contest starts today and will end at 11:59 a.m. Friday, August 1st. Winners are chosen by Randomizer. I will contact the winner via email and you will have three days to claim your prize, otherwise I move on to the next best answer.
Good Luck!

My family and I are vegan, and we love using lots of fresh herbs in our cooking. Lately, we've been buying bunches of basil from farmer's market, and that makes some of the yummiest things!

Oh how pretty! My cooking...well, I'd have to say I'm a pretty good cook, but I have trouble coming up with what to cook.

Those are lovely towels, what a great giveaway prize!

My cooking skills are decent. There's always room for improvement, but I've been cooking for 35 years now and I'm pretty fearless about trying new things. Experience does make a difference over time...helps you to anticipate how flavor combinations are going to work, and to know when some recipes are just hopeless.

I am a pretty good cook when I want to be. I can get lazy but if I take the time to pay attention to details I cam make a very tasty meal.

Those tea towels are just too cute to use!!! erm, my cooking skills!? Pretty much non-existent, however, if you are talking baking then that's quite different, I love to bake cakes and buns and all things naughty!!

Lovely tea towels!
I take a lot of pride in my cooking skills. Hubby has never complained, lol.
I am hosting a giveaway, too! I hope you will check it out.

Those tea towels are beautiful.

I would call myself an advanced but not a fancy cook. At a restaurant I order something that I can't make just as well at home, and that list gets more limited as time goes on.

Very cute! I'm a baker at heart but being a housewife I do a lot of cooking and I do like it (just not as much as baking). I make pretty much every meal from scratch with organic ingredients. I'm still learning but I think I can hold my own lol.

These are so pretty!! I love Lavender and the lace is gorgeous.

:) Hmmmm my cooking skills... I can cook and I can cook really well but i don't really enjoy it much... sometimes I'll get in a mood and bake like crazy and then not do it again for a while. I love using fresh herbs and natural ingredients.
Fresh from the garden is best... so it's hard to get interested in cooking when you don't have a space for a garden.

These are very pretty tea towels.

Skill...who needs skill when you have Swanson TV dinners? And my guests know that dinner is served when the smoke alarm goes off!

Seriously though, cooking is an art that improves with time. After 22+ years it's such a comfort to me that I no longer need to measure the exact amount of vanilla when I make chocolate chip cookies!!!

Thanks for offering such a nice gift to win. (and I like your Willow style plate too!)

Rose said...

Yeah!! I want to play to.
My cooking? Very simple, lots of good fresh things from my garden, herbs from my herb beds, fresh eggs from the henhouse, homemade bread and my favorite thing to cook and eat, soups. I love them winter and summer. A nice steak off the grill once and while and I am happy.

Reeva said...

Great giveaway! Very pretty towels. I hope i'm the lucky winner :)

My cooking skills? well.. first, what skills? :P I'm an "ok" cook and I make up a lot of stuff on the fly that actually turns out "ok" :)

I'm a pretty good cook, at this point, but I wasn't five years ago! Between then and now lies a lot of trial and error. :)

I consider myself to be a fairly good cook, but I can't bake to save my life. I am a lazy cook though. I want food that tastes good, but takes little effort...none of these day long adventures of making the beef stock from scratch to add to the stew that goes in the pastry crust, etc.

I would say that I am a decent cook. We are gradually changing our eating habits towards a more vegetarian diet and that is proving to be challenging. We still occasionally eat meat but I am trying to find quick, easy, tasty vegetarian recipes to replace those meals.

My mother taught me to cook when I was very young and I do it pretty well, my family and friends tell me. I like to bake sweets, I think, more than cook meals.

Lately, I've been into trying different herbs and spices that I've never used or even heard of before, just trying something new and spicing up my usual dishes. I recently bought 7 or 8 different herb/spice combos when a grocer was going out of business. I'd never used any of them before, and we're really enjoying them.

My boys like to experiment with spices. They're good cooks too.

My cooking skills are pretty average but am always checking out new recipes for that special taste people would rave about. It definately would be better to use fresh herbs(out of your garden, if possible) to produce the best results. Those in a can from the store are not quite the same.

Pretty tea towels!

I really like cooking when I'm not rushed and harried! And I get a lot of compliments, so I guess I cook well. I like trying out different kinds of cuisine and flavorings--right now I'm on an Asian kick. And I really like baking.

I don't know if I really have any cooking skills persay but then again I can't really blame it on my mother. She tried to teach me a lot as a teenager but I think it goes in one ear and out the other when your 17 and only want to spend time with boys. So sorry mom. I tried. Maybe she can teach me something now. Or I will just come here to YOUR blog and get great ideas, that is if she is busy. :)

I'm a learner and I learn best by watching others do it first--I soaked up the cooking channel when I lived with my parents. Been cooking for my family for eight years now, and I love it most days--but it seems that at least one of my little "delay fish" needs me during supper prep! :) I'm becoming more of an intuitive cook and loving it when I come up with something the family loves!!! Thanks for the giveaway--the tea towels are just lovely and will complement our bedroom perfectly!!!

I'm a great cook, but very messy. I started selling pampered chef recently and am feeling like a pro. A very, very messy pro. lol. In reality, I'm probably not everyone's favorite. I'm a big fan of comfort food. Southern. Simple flavors. Nothing fancy here. But yummmmmmm.
